Isabella's Story: Creative Internship in Sydney
This is Isabella!
Isabella secured a creative internship with Inck Merchandise, a merchandising company in Sydney. As a fashion merchandising student at Miami Dade College's Miami Fashion Institute, she aimed to apply the knowledge gained during her studies in a real-world setting, leading her to join the ArtBound Initiative program.
What were some valuable insights you gained during your Creative Internship?
Some of my creative internship learnings include:
Having a briefing on what I should be working on for the day to avoid miscommunication
The importance of creating a to-do list in order of urgency and time consumption of tasks
To work on tasks in a timely manner
Check-in with the supervisor at the middle and end of the day for constant feedback
What part of your Creative Internship did you enjoy the most?
My internship has not only met but also surpassed my expectations in various ways, one of them being the depth of knowledge I've gained here, which I don't believe I could've acquired elsewhere.
What I enjoy the most is receiving feedback from my peers and supervisors, as I find it to be where I learn the most. Additionally, the general work atmosphere of my creative internship is very casual, easy-going, and welcoming.

How did ArtBound Initiative help you during your internship?
ArtBound Initiative’s help has surpassed my expectations in all aspects. Their curriculum has prepared me tremendously not only for my internship overseas but for my career afterwards. It was amazing to see the evolution of the content I learned through the curriculum become practice during my time with my host company.
ABI’s network has created long-lasting connections between myself and colleagues which I wouldn’t have been able to find elsewhere. My internship has exposed me to a different path I didn’t know to be possible prior, and I couldn’t be more content with my decision to invest in ABI.
During my creative internship, I learned heaps about the branded merchandising industry, which I had very limited knowledge of prior to it.
