Emma's Story: Virtual Fashion Internship
This is Emma!
Emma landed a virtual fashion internship at Fashion Snoops, a global trend forecasting agency that services brands, retailers, and manufacturers in fashion, accessories, home decor, beauty, media, marketing, and other consumer-facing industries, empowering them to act on future trends. She immediately started her internship once she graduated from Miami Dade College's Miami Fashion Institute.
Can you describe what your day-to-day looks like?
I organized and filed images in PowerPoint presentations into designated folders, ensuring proper attribution to the rightful sources. Additionally, I conducted research on specific topics, summarizing my findings in written paragraphs and relating them to patterns and graphics, which aligned with the team I collaborated with. Lastly, I sourced commercial and product images that were relevant to the upcoming trends being researched by the analytics team.

What is your favorite part about your Virtual Fashion Internship?
Since the internship was remote, it also helped me become more tech-savvy. I learned numerous shortcuts and features on my computer that I wasn't familiar with before, which has proven to be extremely useful.
What did ArtBound Initiative help you with the most?
ArtBound Initiative was helpful throughout the whole experience. My program coordinator, Alif, was always checking in and making sure I was staying on top of my work. The missions I had to do before I started my internship also helped me get ahead with a lot of the tasks I will have to do moving forward both in school and my career, such as LinkedIn and my resume.
I enjoyed discovering brands that I might not have encountered otherwise and appreciating their unique qualities.
