ABI Alumni Updates
Emma
is a previous participant of the ArtBound Initiative (ABI) program who interned last summer in Hong Kong for Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation (HOCA). We checked in to see what she's been up to and what's next for her!
"Last year, I worked two highly lucrative internships. The first was one that I achieved through the help of ABI, working as the Project Coordinator for the Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation in the summer. Following that, I had a position as a gallery assistant at Marc Straus gallery in NYC."
"My internship at HOCA boosted my resume and helped prepare me for a life of daily work in the art world. I learned how to interact in professional environments and now know how to research both on local and global scales. I also have a more expansive vocabulary with which to express myself in the art world. Recently, my work at HOCA was listed as a noteworthy reason that a graduate school accepted me into their program."
"My next step is to go to London for graduate school in the fall, where I will study art history and curatorial work for two years, that I might better prepare for a permanent position with a museum or gallery. Although I have not chosen a school yet, I am confident that the experience will help my understanding of the art world immensely."
